As a long-time public media enthusiast, I was thrilled to join GBH’s News Politics Team as their Spring 2024 Intern!
At GBH, I gave pitches, wrote copy and collected sound bites for political news stories. I had the awesome experience of attending press conferences and conducts interviews to provide meaning-making coverage of local, state, and national politics. I also dipped my toes into TV, assisting with production of Talking Politics weekly radio show. My favorite moment? Covering the NH primary, of course!

This internship resulted in a couple of articles published on the GBH website. I really valued going through their editing process, which was so different from the college paper style I was familiar with!
Politics IRL
I also had the privilege of working on Politics IRL, a web series where young voters from both sides of the aisle get together to talk about today’s political landscape.
I helped to plan two shoots, which I’ve attached here. I also wrote and edited corresponding YouTube shorts, which can be found on the GBH News YouTube channel!
I also assisted in production and social media outreach for Talking Politics hosted by Adam Reilly. While the show is no longer airing, the experience I gained with booking talent, writing for TV, and maximizing clarity of dense political stories was invaluable.
